This restaurant is also within walking distance from the Westwinds condos on Treasure Island, (you have to pass Ricky T’s) on your way to Middle Grounds and on your way home to Westwinds condos. The restaurant is just north of the Westwinds condos and also on Gulf Blvd.

My favorite day for this restaurant is Thursday, Martini Night (their Chocolate and Espresso Martinis are to die for)

You can either sit in the bar area or in the restaurant  and enjoy an interesting menu with great food. Real table cloth, real napkins, fine wines, waiter is black cloth, valet parking,  the whole ballgame.

Appetizers are between $8 and $14. Entrees are between  $18 and $36. A glass of wine is between $6 and $13 and bottles is between $28 and $280.

 When you own a condo at the Westwinds in Teasure Island or rent a condo at the Westwinds for your vacation, this is one place you do not want to miss.

 Treasure Island people seldom dress up, we enjoy the beach life and love our shorts and T shirts but when we go to the Middle Grounds we ” put make up on”.  

Like I have said many times before, the Westwinds condos on Treasure Island have the perfect location, everything is so close by and so many restaurants to chose from.

 Come to the Westwinds condos for the perfect beach vacation or spend the winter at the Westwindscondos and take your time to enjoy everything Treasure Island has to offer.

Well – Well, when it comes to Ricky T’s I am not sure if it is a good thing or bad thing that this restaurant – bar is only a few minutes away from the Westwinds condos in Treasure Island Fl. 

The bad thing (if you are as easily tempted as I am) is that you might drink too much, make way too many new friends, get new wrinkles from laughing, have blisters on your feet from dancing and a sore throat for singing.

The good thing is -lot’s of fun and  you can stumble home. Everybody in Treasure Island and the surrounding beach towns knows Ricky T’s. This bar is the famous “gathering place, watering hole, hangout….whatever you want to call it.

Living in the Westwinds condos in Teasure Island chances are that you will walk or drive by a few times a day and there is always a good reason to stop and have ONE beer……. Well, one beer never works for me when I go to Ricky T’s. Somehow you always meet a friend or make new friends or want to hear the next song.. you get the picture. (by the way, their live music is the best on the beach)

Ricky T’s is just such a fun place with great entertainment, good food and fun people. You will meet the “dressed up girls night out crowd” as well as “people from the biker club” local business man and women, beach goers, visitor, snowbirds, you name it, they will be at Ricky T’s.

It is always good to have recommendations for restaurants when you are new to the area. This blog post is for people who buy a condo at Westwinds in Treasure Island and anybody else living, working or visiting Treasure Island Florida.

The R Bar is just a few minutes away  from the  Westwinds Condos in Treasure Island.  The restaurant is what we call “a little hole in the wall” and you would not find it if you didn’t know it was there. The R Bar is very unique and a favorite hangout for locals.

Every time I am in the mood for Crab legs, I go to the R bar here on Treasure Island. They have all you can eat specials for Crab Legs on Tuesday and Thursday night. on other nights they offer all you can eat Prime rib and Cat fish.

Just the other day I stumbled over a review of this little restaurant ” O.K., it’s not that pretty.  Inside or out.  But what comes out of the kitchen will make up for the lack of HGTV digs!” and I have to agree, I live around the corner and I drove past it many timesand did not go in because it really didn’t look to appealing.

By now I know that this is really the charm  of this little restaurant. I also hate their music but then again, everybody else seems to like it and it is also part of the charm and atmosphere.

The R Bar is located on the corner of 108th Ave and 107th Ave in Treasure Island Fl, right behind the ABC liquor store. It is only a short walk from the Westwinds condos of Treasure Island and you do not have to worry about drinking and driving. So come check it out and have some fun on your next visit to Treasure Island.

It is always good to have recommendations for restaurants when you are new to the area. This blog post is for people who buy a condo at Westwinds in Treasure Island and anybody else living, working or visiting Treasure Island Florida.

Sloppy Joe’s is just 2 blocks north of the Westwinds Condos in the Biltmare Hotel. The restaurant is probably the biggest one in Treasure Island and it sits right on the beach. So, the perfect location.

Locals as well as visitors love the place. You can either sit inside at tables or at the bar or outside on the covered patio or on the terrace overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. (beautiful sunsets)

The service is friendly and the food is good, I have eaten at Sloppy Joe’s many times and was never disappointed. We are glad to have such a great restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere in Treasure Island. You can wear flip flops or high heels, as long as you wear shoes you are welcome.

 I love their Quesadillas  $8.99, Chicken Wings  $7.99, Retro Cobb Salad  $11.50, Mahi Mahi Madness  $15,99, Nachos  $8.99, Grouper Sandwich  $12.99. The portions are huge and I guess you could call the menu “upscale bar food”

Other than Monday and Tuesday, this restaurant has live music every day.

 Like I said, this restaurant is just a few minutes from the Westwinds condos  and you should check it out while you are in Treasure Island.

That is sooooooooo great !  Never thought we would have such a cool event in our little beach town of Treasure Island.  Looking forward to this awesome happening on March 31, 2012  starts at 6 p.m. I am not crazy about the March date (hope it won’t be too cold) but then again, this Chillounge event is something that not only Treasure Island residence will enjoy but also the snowbirds and other visitors that have come to our beautiful beach towns.

Chillounge Night will set up in the Treasure Island Community Center Park. This is an event you do not want to miss, the ultimate outdoor lounge experience.  Lots of chic daybeds and all kinds of other outdoor furniture and furnishings  will  create a cozy, comfortable setting for an evening of food, drinks, entertainment and fun. You will meet all kinds of people here in Treasure Island and it is going to be a great relaxed and elegant atmosphere.

Two live band will perform at the Treasure Island Chillounge  plus you can enjoy a fantastic Runway Fashion Show organized by Benjamin’s Studios plus a sexy, hot one-of-a-kind Daybed Parade. There will also be fireworks and Chillounge Night’s signature Brazilian Samba Parade. (all that in Treasure Island…)

Chillounge Night in Treasure Island Florida!

I am so excited, just drove by the Westwinds condos in Treasure Island. The owners are doing a great job, everything is moving along nicely. The new paint will look great ! So looking forward, I guess we will be ready to sell the first condos at the Westwinds in Treasure Island in about a month or so.

If you are lucky enough to own a condo at the Westwinds in Treasure Island you are right across the street from Treasure Island beach and the Sunday sunset drum circle.

This is an awesome event you do not want to miss in Treasure Island. Every Sunday a bunch ((hundreds) of people get together at the public beach ,corner of 104th Ave and Gulf Blvd in Treasure Island. Some of these people bring their drums, bongos etc and start playing in celebration of the sunset.

There is a lot of energy in this event and people from all walks of life get together to have fun, enjoy the music and the sunset. You will see a lot of Belly dancers perform and sometimes you even see fire dancers and eaters. Bring a blanket, a chair and a cooler and enjoy the show.  All in all this is a unique thing to do in Treasure Island and people living in the Westwinds condos just have to walk across the street to the beach to be part of this Sunday sunset celebration.

Living at the Westwinds condos in Treasure Island | Drum circle

If you bought at the beautiful condo at the Westwinds resort in Treasure Island, one of the best reastaurants in town is just a short walk north east of you.

Here is a story about my last visit to the Pearl in Treasure Island.

What a treat.  It is this time of the year again where we have our annual office diner party .We try to go to a different place every year but I have the feeling that this has stopped as of last night. We had a fantastic time at the Perl here in Treasure Island. I just love everything about this place.

First of all, you can’t beat the location, right in downtown Treasure Island next to a cigar bar and a dance bar (for the after dinner things) The Pearl  has a really welcoming and  cozy atmosphere and you can feel this the moment you walk in. It is as if Karim ( the owner | chef) and his wonderful staff, invite you into their living room and you instantly feel at home and well taken care of.

Talking about the Staff, everybody at the Pearl is very knowledgeable and friendly and pays attention to you. We had the pleasure of being served by Nick, by far the best  “host” you can find anywhere on planet earth . I am using the word “host” deliberately, a waiter is just someone that brings you food, a “host” is someone that  cares  and takes pride in his job.  As always, he was funny and in great spirits and we all had a wonderful time.

Now let’s talk about food. There are a lot of good cooks in our area and Karim is probably the best one of them but what really sets him apart is his love for food and his love for cooking. You can see it in the presentation and you taste it with the very first bite.   He is very creative but won’t overdue it.  Everything is made from scratch with  the freshest food you can find. The menu is a pleasure to read, perfect balance between International, Moroccan and American food.

He accommodates all your “special wishes” and I am not just talking about the “substituting rice for potatoes thing”.  Last night, one of us wanted Sauce Béarnaise with her filet, now this is not something that you have in your pantry or you can just open a can. First of all, it is not easy to make a Sauce Béarnaise from scratch but the much bigger deal is that it completely interrupts your  ”kitchen process”  See a restaurant kitchen is a highly organized place where everybody has his job and follows and unwritten “plan” which is needed to get the food out in time etc. So, interrupting this process  to accommodate “special wishes” ( in our case very very special wishes) is something you won’t find anywhere else.

So, again, we all had a wonderful time at the Pearl here in Treasure Island. The food was fantastic, the service was awesome and the atmosphere just brought it all together. If you  visit Treasure Island you should not miss out on this experience. Put it on you to do list, you will be delighted.
